2013 is all about strapless! The sweetheart neck line can add a touch of classic style to your dress. How to choose the perfect dress is always a challenge, there are so many styles out there. Here's a list of helpful hints when choosing your dress:                         
                          *You want to highlight the narrowness of your midsection
                                   and have it flow away from your hips and thighs.
                          *Fabric that are sturdier do not cling as much (duchesse and taffeta)
                          *If you're busty look for a scoop neck dress
                          *Satin, empire waist dresses are ideal for the plus sized bride
                          *Trumpet, sheath and a modified A-line gown is ideal for a petite bride, 
                                  also be sure to stay  away from a drop waist dress, 
                                  this will make you look like your legs are non-existent.
                          *Be sure you can sit down! 
                                   This may sound silly but some fuller dresses are difficult to sit in.
Dresses come in all shapes, sizes, styles, colors and especially prices. Be sure to shop around, don't just settle on the first one you find. Remember its your special day and you want to feel comfortable and happy with you choice. Happy Dress Hunting!

    Summer 2013 is the time for prints! Everything from the stripes chevron,delicate florals, polka dots, strips and bold graphic prints! Do it right by adding an exciting pattern to a table runner, bridesmaid dress, napkins, ties or even stationary. Forget plain and simple, your wedding is a time to have fun and what's a better way to do that then with a some bold patterns to show off your outgoing personality!! This WILL be the year for fun weddings, just be sure not to go over board, sometimes less is more. In addition to the outstanding prints throughout your wedding space, this is the year for a eye catching cake. Make your wedding cake stand out by incorporating those magnificent patterns and colors to mimic designs throughout your wedding area. Go big or go home this summer, make your wedding fun and memorable! Just remember to not add too many patterns, keep it simple! 

Stress-Free Wedding

When it comes to all the stresses of preparing for the big day how do you stay organized and refrain from going crazy and pulling your hair out? Now-a-days everyone has computers or tablets, so use them to you advantage, create a folder just for your wedding, use a Word program or an Excel spread sheet, label each sheet with different aspects of your wedding making sure to include vendors and contact info. In addition to this make a folder or a binder containing paper work, printed out emails and receipts. Get your Husband to be involved too, it's his day as well so you shouldn't have all the stress on you! Creating a check list for the two of you will help you both to see what has been done and what still needs to be done. Picking a budget and sticking to that amount will relieve stress also, because nothing is more stressful than realizing you've gone way over budget. Not only will all this do-it yourself things help but having a wedding planner is a enormous stress reducer but is also great to help make your special day go smooth. So explore all your options and remember your wedding doesn't have to be stressful!

Mackenzie & Eric - Outdoor Elegance - May 19, 2012

We started working with Mackenzie and Eric in June of 2011.  As soon as we met them, we knew this was going to be a beautiful and fun wedding.  Mackenzie, Eric, and both of their families are so sweet, laid-back, and funny...it was a joy to get to know them.  Mackenzie had a great vision for her wedding, which took place at her family's home in Monkton, MD.   Using the home for the wedding venue gave the day a level of personalization and sentiment that can be difficult to achieve elsewhere.  And the gorgeous backdrop of the horse farm made the day that much more stunning.  Thanks to Andrew and Molly of Connor Studios for the amazing photos!

 

Mackenzie's sister had made several cute signs to direct guests to the house.  

 

The ceremony took place in front of the house, with a large fountain as the backdrop.  The location was so beautiful on it's own, it needed very little decoration.  Connie Clark of Violet's Florist added flowers to the fountain and some on the chairs, which made the location picture perfect. 

The reception took place on the patio in the back of the house, overlooking the horse farm.   Seeing the house set up for the wedding, you wouldn't believe that the patio had been under construction until a few days prior. 

 Mackenzie and Eric put a lot of thought into personalizing their wedding and made sure to have something for everyone to enjoy.  From their S'mores favors (they met on a camping trip) to their super cute table numbers, htey really made this day reflect who they are as people and as a couple. 

 
 It was a great party, full of fun and dancing.  The guests all had a great time, and the bride and groom couldn't have had a more perfect day.  

Thanks to all of the vendors who helped to make this day so amazing.  And thank you, Mackenzie and Eric, for letting us be a part of such a magical day!

What is a wedding planner?

Favor Buffets

Candy buffets are awesome so look at some pictures. I don't think I even need to explain them.




















As you can see, the candy buffet can fit any style or formality. The pink, gold, and chocolate makes the candy buffet more formal. The multicolor candy feels more casual and fun.

I think the most exciting part of having one of these at your wedding may be the candy shopping. I'm not sure I would be able to control of myself.

Dreaming of Dresses

I love couture runway shows. They are like moving art shows. Traditionally in a runway show, a designer's final dress is a white wedding gown. Although this isn't always the case, and a designer doesn't always show a white wedding gown at the end, I still picture their white dresses as wedding gowns.

Chanel, Giambattista Valli

I love the ruffled sleeves on the Giambattista Valli gown. I don't think there are enough pretty sleeved wedding dresses out there.

I love everything about that Jean-Paul Gaultier gown. So beautiful!

Christian Dior's full ball gowns are absolutely stunning. I also love the stars on the headpiece.
